Prudential – Supporting your professional development

Do you want to have more effective conversations with your clients at the same time as developing professionally.

At Prudential we understand how important it is for you to constantly develop your knowledge. That’s why we offer a variety of materials that you can pick and choose from to suit your personal development needs.

Did you know that in 2015 we delivered 120 hours of structured continuous professional development (CPD), and so far this year, we’ve already delivered over 70 hours of structured CPD. All of this material has been accredited by the CII/PFS or CISI schemes.

But for us this isn’t just about ticking a box – we’re truly committed to helping you deepen your knowledge and understanding of the industry, economic environment and financial products. We want to empower you with the knowledge to have more effective conversations with your clients, and we want you to grow professionally and for your businesses to thrive commercially.

Live webinars and masterclasses

Oracle Live is our WebEx programme presented by our technical managers, business development managers and PruConsulting team. You can sign up for our monthly sessions on our PruAdviser website, where you’ll also be able to watch recordings of past ones, including topics like financial planning, industry updates and technical expertise.

We’ve also introduced new WebEx masterclasses, which offer you an advanced level of technical information and learning opportunities. Topics covered in these include trustee investment and pension planning.

So far this year, 7,800 people have attended our seven Oracle Live WebEx sessions and we’ve had more than 1,700 attendees dialling in to our five Oracle Live masterclasses, providing you with more than 15 hours of structured CPD to choose from.

Regular Oracle publications

Our Oracle publications are packed with technical expertise, information on topical industry matters, and commentary on legislative and regulatory developments.

Oracle, our quarterly magazine, includes articles by our technical experts, business development managers, PruConsulting and other internal industry experts, as well as relevant external independent commentary, all aimed at giving you planning angles to use with your clients. This year so far, we’ve published 37 articles with useful and relevant information that all qualify as structured CPD.

Oracle Technical is our highly popular monthly online digest of legislative and regulatory developments in the industry.

NEW CPD accredited video content

Knowledge TV is Prudential’s new on-demand library of videos containing industry updates, technical expertise and insight, and information about our funds, tools and services.

A new development for us this year is structured CPD accredited video content. We’ve already created a taxation of bonds boxset and coming soon are boxsets on taxation of trusts, OEICs and pension death benefits.

Test and evidence your learning

Through our Test Centre, we offer an easy way for you to keep a record of your CPD, and to evidence your completed activities and the targeted learning outcomes, as required by the regulator. On completion of your test, you’ll gain a certificate for your structured CPD.

Client Centred Advisers: Helping clients stop living in life’s waiting room

One of the most common assumptions people make is this: “I’ll be happy when…” I’ll be happy when I can retire. I’ll be happy when the mortgage is paid off. I’ll be happy when I have enough money.
